Senate Rejects Iraq Pullout
Posted by ssbg on June 16, 2006
We noted last night that the House debated yesterday, and will vote today, on a Republican-drafted resolution on the Iraq war. The Senate also debated Iraq yesterday, as Republicans brought to the floor John Kerry's resolution calling for withdrawal from Iraq by the end of the year. (Somewhat weirdly, Kerry denounced the vote on his resolution as a "political game." Apparently he didn't intend for his resolution to be voted on.) Kerry's cut-and-run resolution went down to a resounding 93-6 defeat.
Notwithstanding the constant noise made by the media and the Democrat Party's left wing, it appears that there actually is broad support for the administration's policy of victory in Iraq. We'll report later how the House votes today.
